Once a year, Shedfest brings the Yarra Valley’s smaller, family-run wineries together for one shared weekend of tastings and cellar-door celebration. Yarra Valley Lodge sits at the edge of it all, mornings that start with mist over the fairways before the first cellar door even opens.

About Shedfest

Now in its 23rd year, Shedfest runs on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October, with cellar-door specials, live music and food stalls set up at each winery for the weekend. Rather than settling in at one spot, the day has a wander-as-you-please rhythm: tastings at one winery, a share plate at another, before circling back for a last glass somewhere with a view.

It’s the kind of Yarra Valley weekend built for a loose plan rather than a tight schedule, easy to bring the kids, end up somewhere you hadn’t planned to be by mid-afternoon.

How to get there

Because Shedfest runs across multiple wineries rather than one address, driving is the simplest way to move between venues across the day. A few local wine tour operators run transfers between wineries too, useful if nobody in the group wants to be the designated driver.
