About Blue Lotus Water Garden

Lotus Flower Season runs from 26 December 2026 to 20 March 2027, when the garden holds Australia’s largest collection of lotus flower varieties. Millions of lotus and waterlily flowers bloom across the property’s 14 acres, with highlights including Cochrane Lake, Lotus Lake and Lotus Wetlands, plus a Giant Amazon Waterlily exhibit where the leaves grow large enough to rival a dinner table.

Autumn Flower Season follows straight after, from 21 March to 11 April 2027, as the lotus flowers begin to thin out and their leaves turn colour much like deciduous trees. In their place, millions of begonias, impatiens, petunias, salvias and sunflowers take over, along with Australia’s largest hanging garden, more than 300 hanging baskets spread across the grounds. The waterlilies, including the Giant Amazon Waterlily, keep flowering in the lake and greenhouse exhibits right through this second season too.

How to get there

Blue Lotus Water Garden sits at 2628 Warburton Highway, Yarra Junction, about 45 minutes from Yarra Valley Lodge through Wandin, Seville and Yarra Junction, a scenic run along the eastern side of the valley.
