About
De Bortoli is one of the Yarra Valley’s most established winery experiences, bringing together cellar door tastings, Italian-inspired dining and a long family winemaking story in Dixons Creek.
Set on Pinnacle Lane, De Bortoli has been part of the Yarra Valley since 1987, when Leanne De Bortoli and Steve Webber established the estate with a focus on cool-climate wines that reflect the region. Today, it is a generous stop for guests who want a winery visit with a little more depth than a quick tasting, with seated wine experiences, estate-grown wines, landscaped gardens and Locale Restaurant onsite.
Why visit De Bortoli
De Bortoli suits guests who want to understand the Yarra Valley through both wine and food. The cellar door offers seated tastings and more involved wine experiences, while Locale Restaurant reflects the family’s Italian heritage through seasonal, produce-led dishes matched with De Bortoli wines.
It is a good fit for couples planning a relaxed winery lunch, small groups building a cellar door itinerary, and visitors who want to spend time at one estate rather than moving quickly between stops. For international travellers, it also gives a clear introduction to the Yarra Valley’s cool-climate wine character, with pinot noir, chardonnay and Italian influence sitting close to Melbourne.
How to get there
De Bortoli is located at 58 Pinnacle Lane, Dixons Creek. From Yarra Valley Lodge, allow approximately 25 to 30 minutes by car, depending on traffic and the route taken.
The drive takes guests through the northern side of the Valley, making it easy to pair De Bortoli with nearby cellar doors, Yarra Glen, Healesville or a slower return to the estate. Driving is the simplest option from the Lodge, particularly if you are visiting for lunch or planning more than one winery stop.
