Stand-up comedy and cellar-door wine don’t usually share a paddock, except for one weekend each October at CherryHill Orchards.

Comedy in the Vines fills CherryHill’s Coldstream orchard with three days of stand-up, live music and wine tastings from more than twenty Yarra Valley winemakers. Yarra Valley Lodge sits right at the doorstep of it, close enough to squeeze in a lap of the estate before heading over for the first set.

About Comedy in the Vines

Comedy in the Vines runs from Friday 23 to Sunday 25 October, with dozens of comedians across the weekend alongside cellar-door tastings, wine masterclasses and a ‘Meet Your Maker’ bar where you can talk to the winemakers pouring your glass. The line-up mixes well-known Australian names with international guests, and the format is built to roam rather than sit still, drift between a comedy set, a tasting and a food stall in whatever order suits.

A run of sillier programming, think wine-themed games and late-night DJ sets, has become part of the festival’s own identity alongside the comedy and wine.

How to get there

CherryHill is a short, 15-minute drive from the Lodge, though with some late finishes on the cards, ask our team to help arrange a transfer back to the Lodge if you’d rather not be the one driving.
