A celebration of the Yarra Valley’s most sought-after winter ingredient

As the valley settles into winter, join us for an evening dedicated to one of the season’s most prized harvests.

On Friday 31 July, Yarra Valley Lodge invites guests to experience a four-course Truffle Dinner showcasing Black Winter Truffles grown just minutes away in Woori Yallock by Yarra Valley Truffles.

For more than 20 years, Stuart Dunbar has cultivated premium Perigord truffles in the Yarra Valley, earning a reputation for producing some of Australia’s finest truffles. Chef Steve has worked alongside Stuart for almost a decade, drawing inspiration from each season’s harvest to create dishes that celebrate the depth, aroma and character of this remarkable ingredient.

The evening begins with roaming canapés and sparkling wine, accompanied by an introduction from Stuart Dunbar of Yarra Valley Truffles. Guests will then be seated for two truffle-inspired courses, thoughtfully paired with local Yarra Valley wines and premium Victorian produce.

Throughout the evening, Chef Steve will share the stories behind each dish, the local producers featured on the menu and his long-standing partnership with Stuart, offering a unique insight into the region’s truffle season.

Freshly shaved Black Winter Truffle features throughout the experience, complemented by local cheeses, chestnuts and seasonal ingredients sourced from across the Yarra Valley and beyond.

To finish, guests are invited to indulge in a dessert bar curated by Chef Darcy, featuring house-made truffle ice cream, chestnuts, hazelnuts and other seasonal sweet creations inspired by the region’s winter harvest.

Guests will also have the opportunity to purchase fresh truffles to take home on the night.
