Just 45 minutes from Melbourne, Christmas Day at Yarra Valley Lodge feels a world away.

The drive into the Valley is easy and unhurried. By the time guests arrive at the estate, city noise has given way to open fairways, wide skies and the quiet rhythm of the landscape. Kangaroos graze across the greens in the morning light, children explore the grounds, and families gather knowing there’s nothing to prepare and nowhere else to be.

Christmas here unfolds slowly. Guests are welcomed with a drink on arrival before settling into a long, generous lunch overlooking the estate’s 120 hectares. Conversation stretches across the table. Glasses refill. The afternoon lingers.

A Menu Rooted in the Yarra Valley

Under the direction of Chef Steve Scambler, the festive buffet is grounded in a farm-to-table philosophy that reflects the Yarra Valley’s growers, producers and cool-climate character. Seasonal vegetables, local cheeses and thoughtfully sourced seafood sit alongside traditional Christmas favourites. Free-range roasts, fresh oysters, regional produce and classic desserts are presented with the same care as any dish served throughout the year.

It is recognisably Christmas, but distinctly Yarra Valley.

Families are free to relax into the day with a three-hour buffet lunch and three-hour beverage package, allowing the celebration to feel complete without feeling rushed. With accommodation on site, guests can choose to extend the experience and wake the following morning to breakfast overlooking the fairways.
