Bella’s breakfast experience has been transformed into an a la carte, café-style restaurant, with barista made coffee, Yarra Valley Tea Company teas and the freshest produce prepared by our chefs.
At dinner, choose from a concise list of superb seasonal dishes and wines. From smoked local trout, Little Creek Cattle beef and artisanal cheeses from the dairies at Yarra Valley, perfectly paired to the best drops from the region.

MEET OUR NEW HEAD CHEF
STEVE SCAMBLER

Steve’s introduction to cooking was working in a boutique bakery while studying to be a teacher. It was this experience that led him to a full-time baker position within a luxury resort in Central Australia and before too long he identified his interest in becoming a chef. Steve finished his training within a large resort group that saw him travel to some of Australia’s most iconic regions from Uluru to Cradle Mountain. The hotel sector allowed Steve the opportunity to gain widespread experience across casual dining, fine dining, extensive weddings and functions. The past eight years have seen Steve refine his skills within the Yarra Valley and Mornington Peninsula focusing on fresh local produce and large-scale catering, most recently at Yering Station winery. Steve’s approach to food focuses on the beauty and simplicity of local and native ingredients prepared with reverence to French traditions. When not in the kitchen, Steve can be found with his young family, on the piano or in the garden.

“I enjoy challenging myself and strive to learn and improve.  I love what I do and the experiences I’ve had, and the people I’ve met along the way. I’m excited by the possibilities at Yarra Valley Lodge and I look forward to creating new menus at Bella Restaurant and re-energising the entire food and beverage offering across the hotel,” says Steve.
